A typical badly written but still enjoyable Argento flick...
-Betty's reasons for not going to the police (if there really WAS one) was stupid...
-Cristina Marsillach (Betty) sucked as an actress...bad...Part of it might have been the dubbing though.
-Betty just letting somebody in after putting eye drops?
-If the guy who came into the apartment WAS the guy sent in to protect Betty, then what was the point of him completely disappearing from the living room, leaving his cigarette in the ashtray, other than to build up false tension?
-I STILL don't get the point of playing the opera music during the stalking sequence in the apartment.
-That sequence of the raven flying overhead of the audience, while nice looking, was cheesy...its just 1 fucking bird people,no need to get that freaked out.
-This is the first Argento flick in which I saw the killer coming for miles away...I knew who it was right around the 20 minute mark...Not good.
-The metal music was cheesy as all hell.
As usual the directing, cinematography (the peephole shot was the shit),gore, and meanspirited kills put this one over.
4/5
Here are my top 5 Argento flicks:
#1:Tenebre (4.5/5) #2:Phenomina (4/5) #3:Deep Red (4/5) #4:Opera (4/5) #5:Suspiria (3.5/5)
