I just recently got a copy of it to get reaquainted with it...and I find myself watching it over and over and over some more...its just that fucking good.
Simon Pegg is one of the most talented guys I've seen in quite awhile. His acting is top notch, his comedic timing is on the money,he makes some of the funniest facial expressions I've ever seen...and the cherry on top of the sundae is that he's a great dancer. The guy just oozes talent and should have one hell of a career ahead of him.
What makes thie movie so damn good is the serious tone all throughout. There aren't any blatent and slapsticky attempts at humour here...its deadpan and situational humour style blends beautifully with the overall seriousness of the film's tone and story.
So many classic moments in this movie...Shaun's hangover stroll to the store...the record throwing bit...Shaun telling his mother that his stepdad touched him on several occations...the group acting like zombies to get to The Winchester...and countless more.
If I wanted to nitpick,I could find some flaws...but everything else about the movie is so top dollar that it wouldn't make a difference...the movie is gold, plain and simple, and I like it EVEN MORE than I did when I first saw it during its theater run.
5/5

-Shaun going to the shed when the record throwing didn't work...he could have just busted the door earlier and not wasted time with the record throwing, seeing as how the door being locked didn't stop him. -Ed recieving a cell phone call from the same guy that called him earlier asking for dope when they tried to break into The Winchester...I don't fault this because of Ed being dumb enough to answer it,cause that was part of the joke...I fault it because I find it hard to believe the guy would call Ed for dope in a time of crisis like that. -Diane going outside to "rescue" David when she already saw him be completely torn to shreds and killed.

(yeah i know, actually making the run to get the weed would have been a pretty rough endeavour that would have most likely ended up with someone saying "fuck man, it aint worth all that!" 3. yeah, i just attribute that to her being really dumb. all in all, i would say good and fair points on your point. but still so small (as you have said, yes) that they dont take away from the film at all. i was just wondering.
