Eventhough everybody around me in my class wouldn't shut up about how they were looking forward to this,I was never really that interested in it...it was only a few days ago when I started seeing it get a storm of praise that I became interested in at least downloading it...I'll watch it and post a review as soon as I get my mits on it...

i will say that Leonidas is without a doubt the baddest muther fucker to grace the screen in many a year. 300 takes visual ass-kickery to a whole new level.

Alright, lets get the faults out of the way first...
#1:The monsters...there was no need for them. I realise that it's a fantasy account of a real historical event, which means I really don't care if it portrayed the story in historical accuratcy...however,the story would have worked better if it were more grounded and based in reality...no I don't count the hunchback as one of the monsters.
#2:A tad too much slow motion...it worked wonders in the battle scenes, which was greatly appreciated, but not for mundane shit like the queen walking towards the fountain area...which leads me to fault #3
#3:A chunk of the queen's sublpot could have been taken out...I didn't need to see her talk to her aid twice to try to get an audience with the council...that could have been simply implied and started out with the night time scene when the traitor made her fuck him.
Everything else about the movie ruled. Battle scenes rocked my ass AND balls, acting was great (especially Gerard Butler),score was great (especially the last 2 themes),the CG landscapes were delicious, and all that bloodshed put a shit eating grin on my face that never had the chance to subside. This movie finally proves that it wasn't Zack Snyder's direction that I had a problem with in the Dawn remake, but rather James Gunn's writting. Zack Snyder has officially made a fan out of me.
This is now my 4th favorite comic book/graphic novel adaptation (#1:Batman Begins,#2:Sin City,#3:V For Vendetta) and second favorite movie of 2007 so far (my #1 being Hot Fuzz, which I predict will own asses). If this is any indication of what to expect from Snyder's treatment of comic book/graphic novel source material,I can't wait for Watchmen...
