Recently I've discovered this great rift I didn't know even existed. Fans seem to be divided on whether it was the episodes themselves or the music video segments that interupted the episodes that made Beavis and Butthead so great.
I don't care what anybody says...to me,it was the video critiques that made Beavis and Butthead great, and while they had their moments of greatness (anything with Todd in it was pretty much guaranteed to rule),the episodes themselves were pretty much just filler.
Hell look at the evidence. When did Beavis and Butthead start to go downhill? When the focus was put on the episodes themselves and not on the videos (the videos were cut back form 3 to 1). It was the videos where you would hear some of their most genius material...I'm talking such unforgettable quotes like:
"Izzy left Guns N Roses cause Axel is a wuss."
"Is this Leathal Weapon?"
"This guy sucks...and then THIS guy...just look at him."
"This dude looks like one of those drunk business men at those 'krokyoky' bars."
And many MANY more.
Seriously...music video segments all the way

Strangely enough, I love both aspects of the show.

Definitely, the music videos. Me and friends thought this back in the day, too. Plus, it was great to see all this bizarre shit you'd never see otherwise. That one "Zombified" video .....Frank Zappa.....even Ite's favorite video of all-time: "Real American" by Rick Derringer.
BTW.......Does anybody have the new DVD's? "New DVD's" as in the new DVD's, whose selling point was "we've included the videos." I've seen plenty of asshats say these new DVD's actually didn't have that many music videos on them if the DVD's included any videos at all. Clarification?
Also, why is it that when EMpTyV2 shows 2 or 3-hour blocks late at night sometimes on the weekends they repeat the same friggin' episodes? Fuckers. Probably my favorite episode of all time is the one where that great big fat ass Billy Bob dude (wearing nothing other than his underwear and a cowboy hat) is chasing them through town on his riding lawnmower. (Or was it a rascal?) Anytime I've seen the late-night blocks of Beavis & Butthead recently, those EMpTyV cocksuckers never show this one.
The real sad part is that the show Mike Judge actually always wanted to create was "King Of The Hill" and Beavis & Butthead was probably more or less nothing more than a stepping stone for him to accomplishing that. To me, King Of The Hill blows. I gave it a chance for 2 or 3 seasons, then just got bored with it. Somebody ought to make an animated short where a grown up Beavis & Butthead (who would look totally the same except for scraggly beards and tattoos) slaughter the entire Hill family.
